Common questions
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not directly by us. To cancel:
- Open your iPhone Settings app
- Tap your name at the top
- Tap Subscriptions
- Tap Fridgy
- Tap Cancel Subscription
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You'll keep full access until then.
How do I delete my account?
In the Fridgy app: go to the Account tab → More → Sign Out → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your fridge photos, stock items, cooking history, preferences, and account identifier. There is no recovery — the action is final.
If you can't access the app for any reason, email hello@tryfridgy.app from the email tied to your Apple ID and we'll process the deletion manually within 30 days.
How do I get a refund?
All Fridgy subscriptions are purchased through Apple's App Store, so refunds are handled by Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com — sign in with your Apple ID, find the Fridgy purchase, and select "Request a Refund." Apple typically responds within 48 hours.
The AI got something wrong in my scan
It happens. The AI is good but not perfect. You can:
- Edit or delete any item the AI identified in Your Stock
- Add items the AI missed via Add Fridge Item
- Send us the photo if you want to flag a systemic miss — we use feedback to improve the prompt
Recipe suggested ingredients I don't have
Tonight's Meals only suggests recipes where every ingredient is in your fridge or pantry. If a recipe is suggesting something you don't have, it usually means:
- The default pantry includes that item by default (e.g., salt, oil, garlic). Edit the pantry in Your Stock → Pantry if you want to remove anything.
- The item is in your stock under a slightly different name. Try editing the stock item name to match the recipe.
If you're using the This Week tab, recipes ARE allowed to need ingredients you don't have — those become your shopping list.
I changed my diet preference but old recipes are showing
Recipe cache invalidates the next time you scan or refresh. Try pulling down on the Tonight or This Week tab, or scanning a new fridge photo, to bust the cache.
My fridge photos won't analyze (error message)
A few common causes:
- Slow connection — analysis sends the photos to our AI service. On poor networks the request can time out. Wait a moment and try again.
- Photo is too dark — open the fridge door fully and use the interior light, or add ambient room light.
- Photo isn't a fridge — the AI looks for fridge structure. Try a clearer shot of the open fridge.
If it keeps failing, email us with one of the failing photos attached and your iOS version.
Why does Fridgy need camera permission?
To take photos of your fridge. We never access the camera in the background — only when you tap the camera button. You can revoke permission anytime in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera → Fridgy.
Bug reports and feature requests
We read every email. Tell us:
- What happened (or what you wish would happen)
